Crash victim's charity gets sponsor

A CHARITY formed by the family of Southampton motorbike crash victim Wayne Howard is celebrating getting its first corporate sponsor.

Vanilla Gourmet Catering, based in Hamble, has agreed to sponsor the Wayne Howard Trust and has created a new relish to celebrate the occasion.

Named Mrs Bumble's Honey-Based Relish, the new condiment was served up with cheese and other nibbles at a launch at the charity's shop in Church Street, Shirley.

A spokesman for the trust said: "The relish was voted a huge success and the evening ended with guests leaving the shop with a delicious taste in their mouths. This is only the beginning of what is hoped to be a mutually beneficial collaboration."

Vanilla have already agreed to create a honey-based energy bar exclusively for the trust and plan to extend the range over the coming year.

The Wayne Howard Trust gives help and support to families and victims who have suffered brain damage.

Wayne a father of three, was injured in a horrific road accident which led to his right leg being amputated and left him with severe brain damage.

Daily Echo readers backed a campaign which raised enough funds to send him to a German clinic for treatment.
